Jenn + Will // Mavis's Kitchen, Uki // Tweed Coast Wedding Photographer

It was love at first sight when Jenn saw Will's photo on a wall at a friend's house. Little did she know that a few months later she was going to meet that boy at the Emu Park Oktoberfest. Following an evening of dancing to obscure German songs, Will invited the group to come to his family's fishing hut. This seemed like a fabulous idea until they all packed into a 4-wheel drive and started driving on an endless road into the dark bush. Jenn started to wonder just how well she knew these people. From this point on Jenn & Will became relatively inseparable, except for the fact that they lived 7 hours from each other and Jenn was weeks away from a one-way trip through Asia.

Fast forward a number of years and many adventures together, Jenn and Will were back in Yeppoon and he coerced her back to the fishing hut. With one foot barely placed on the wharf, an extremely nervous Will got down on one knee and proposed to Jenn. The ring had been sourced in London and carted in secrecy during their travels through Europe. Will felt that there was a particular type of charm afforded by a sandfly ridden fishing hut in Central Queensland that could not be offered in the English countryside, French Alps or Italian coastline.

So with the date set and plans in place, the two lovebirds were set to tie the knot at Mavis’s Kitchen and Cabins in Uki, Tweed Coast. The ceremony was planned to take place on the hill overlooking the spectacular Mt Warning.

Leading up to the wedding date there was a slight chance of rain, so Jenn, Will and myself discussed options just in case it rained. And boy did it rain! The rain was relentless during the drive to the wedding venue. We arrived at the Log Cabin to an elated Jenn, despite the possible change in plans due to the weather. Nothing would phase her on the happiest day of her life.

With a forecasted break in the weather, Jenn and Will decided to go ahead with the outdoor wedding on the hill. Umbrellas were prepped for opening as 105 of the couple’s dearest friends and family began to arrive. We didn’t need them, the rain stopped just in time for the ceremony which was officiated by Silvana Marin. It was an incredible day celebrating the commitment of these two beautiful people, complete with champagne tower, a delicious three-tiered cake, wedding games and many dance floor shenanigans to the tunes of Barley Shakes.

Will had chosen a suit by MJ Bale complete with R. M Williams boots, and Jenn, an incredible gown by Jack Sullivan Bridal. With makeup by Erin Alana Makeup Artist, hair by Hair by Lacey and florals from Skeleton Leaf Florist, there was no doubt that these two were going to look perfect for each other!
